Alpha Emergence Behavioral Health (AEBH), is a nationally recognized community-based inpatient treatment program specializing in the assessment and treatment of men who have engaged in sexually harmful behaviors. AEBH is seeking part-time overnight staff. This position is expected to work between 12 and 24 hours each week with occasional additional shifts available.  Hours are 8pm-8am.

The overnight staff is responsible for supervision of clients in the program, medication administration, assisting with office tasks such as shredding, filing, scanning, etc, supervision of clients completing house jobs such as lawn care, snow removal, basic home maintenance and meal preparations.

Overnight staff tasks:

  • Resident bed checks. A minimum of eight checks will be performed at intervals of 60 to 90 minutes in between each check.
  • Medication administration (medications are sorted and labeled by nursing staff, night staff simply dispenses the medications).
  • Drafting and sending an update or summary of the events that occurred during your shift for the team (day staff and other night staff).
  • Drafting and sending incident reports as needed to meet DOC documentation standards.
  • Office tasks as assigned
  • Supervision of clients doing their house jobs.
  • Conducts monthly fire drills.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the clinical director or night staff manager.

While this is an overnight awake job and you must be awake and alert, there is significant downtime that would allow you to read, study, watch a movie, play games, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • One or more years of previous experience working in a group home environment is helpful, but not required.
  • Must be willing to be trained to accomplish all tasks assigned and contained within the Job Description in a professional and supportive manner.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Be able to supervise the completion of all household tasks to a high standard.
  • No criminal offense (misdemeanor or felony) that would disqualify an applicant from working with Vulnerable Adults.
  • Must be able to address peers when in conflict in a professional manner.
  • Must be able to complete delegated medical tasks as required, pass medications as directed by the program nurse and complete other medical duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to role model and train professional behavior in all aspects of the position from personal behavior, communication, appearance, ability to meet deadlines as assigned, and prioritize workload.
  • Must be able to accept constructive feedback and training in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Must communicate needs effectively and quickly to the correct department or supervisor to ensure a timely response.
  • A Mantoux test (for Tuberculosis) is required for new hires. If the Mantoux test is positive, the employee needs to provide a clear chest x-ray every 12 months for two years.
